Hello Mr. Toes

I wanted to be patriotic for the 4th of July, so I painted my toes. What is the names on these colors your ask? Why it is, Siren Red and Blasting Blue. Not that crazy, I know. I was going to buy some white flowers to put on them too, but forgot to get them when I went shopping. Which reminds me of a story.... It was back in 2000, my Aunt took my sister and I out shopping. She wanted a girls day out (she didn't have any girls, just boys). She took us to the local mall and we found our way to Bath and Body works. As we were smelling the different scents, I remember quite vividly, that she was SO excited about something. She called my sister and I over and said, "SMELL THIS". I look at her strangely for a second; partially because she had this crazy look in her eyes and another was because she stood there holding a bottle of nail polish. She held out the bottle of nail polish and process to shove it under our noses. It smelled faintly of chocolate and nail polish smell. She then exclaim, "doesn't that smell great? WE CAN PAINT OUR NAILS WITH IT"!!! Next then I knew, we were at her house painting our nails with it. I remember my Aunt kept smelling it while exclaiming.."It's chocolate..hmmmm". That's the end of the story. I know kinda random..

Hello Summer!

Now that Summer's Here. I have a few things on my list to do, like..: 1. Spend more time in the Word :) 2. Clean house 3. Organize house and sort out yard sale stuff 4. Yard sale 5. Move bookshelf from one room to another 6. Catch up on my Summer reading book 7. Paint spare bedroom 8. Spend time with family and friends 9. Possibly travel across country to see my sister! This is a change from last summer. Last summer, I went straight out of school to coaching soccer for the summer. I barley had time to breath. Don't get me wrong I LOVED coaching soccer, but I'm glad that I'm taking this summer to R.E.L.A.X. This past year in school, it has been very stressful. I actually started getting burn out. I needed a break. So, I very much welcome it.

The Joy of the Lord

“He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy”.-Job 8:21 Luke and I were spoken over with this verse back in November 2009. Earlier in that year, we experience our second miscarriage (May 30th). I remember quite vividly that after we receive these words, I was a little frustrated with God. Even though, I had this unspeakable peace about it. I was thinking: “I am still mourning over our miscarriage and the Lord said he was going to fill my mouth with joy”? What joy? I was heartbroken and upset that the Lord took away our second child as well as our first from us. How is God going to fill my mouth with laughter and my lips with joy? I didn’t understand it. But, the Lord is GOOD. Four years later, I went to a women’s conference this past month and Carol Ball (the speaker) felt lead by the Lord to speak about having the Joy of the Lord her first night there. I clung on to what she was about to say. This is what Carol said: How to get the Joy of the Lord 1. Crying out to God. Psalms 40:1-3 said (me paraphrasing) that He will turn his hears to your cries and will lift you up. 2. Retreat with the Lord and He will bring you Hope. Read his Word. Isaiah 40:28-31 3. He will set your feet on solid ground. Something to hold on too (Scripture/the Word) Psalm 27:5 4. Praise Him for being your strength. Neh 8:10 After she gave us these guidelines, I remember thinking yes..Finally! I don’t have to feel so beat up because I didn’t think the Lord heard me or even cared that I was hurting so much. I remember crying out to the Lord a lot after our miscarriages. It’s so nice to know that God hears me and he lifts me up. I felt relieved to know that he will renew my strength and give me such hope. Isaiah 40:31 has been one of my many promises from God to hold on it. I prayed that the Lord will give me the Joy of the Lord as my strength. So He did. Now, my worship has been more intimate. I have this unspeakable joy that just radiance from me when I worship with my follow believers. I can’t explain it fully, but I am truly grateful for this new hope and joy..

She is focus on praising God for sending his son rather then focusing on her idol of becoming a mother. It's good and has alot of scripture. Wanted: A really good friend

*warning, rant ahead

Wanted

I’m looking for a friend that I can rely on. Someone who won’t take me for granted and just used me for my car or take kindness towards other as a tool for others to step all over. Applicants must be loyal, truthful, thoughtful, trustworthy, and compassionate. Must be available to talk and not get a voicemail whenever I am in need of advice or just need a listening ear. Will not accept applicants that have the mentality of just wanting something out of you and not willing to do their share. This is a 50-50 friendship, not 20-80. Thank you.

Partner in crime

Meet my sister Carolyn. A.k.a Shuniqua. When we moved off base and move to Massachusetts, she was my partner in crime. Come to think of it, she was my partner in crime even on base. You see, if I wanted to go see a movie and don't want to go see it by myself I bring her along. Even if it the movie isn't her cup of tea, I resort in bribing (oh come on, like you never did this to your sibling!). Most of the time, she goes along with me. For instance.. While I was driving around the town and had Shuniqua with me. We saw that there were some supporters of a town legislater at a very popular corner (it was around election time). You know the types. They hold big white signs. The signs are usually pumping up and down according to the person's energy level. Well at this one particular occasions we happen to be driven by one of them, when we got stop at the light where they were holding their signs. Shuniqua and I agree that it would be tons of fun if we honk and waved. Especially if we acted like we knew the people out there. When we reach the light, it was red and the people who were holding the signs looked bored to death. They were cold, chattering and holding on to dear life their coffee cups (I decided that I would award 10 points if we could get anyone of them to spill their coffee). So, as soon as the light turn green, we drove off honking and waving. Would you believe that all of a sudden a burst of energy ran through those people and they started cheering! Sadly no 10 points were awarded. Apparently they had super glued their cups in their hands..or maybe it was frozen there.

to be continue..

Virginia-Part 2

My Chorus Teacher Mrs.Holland

Schools

The students are very welcoming to newcomers. So nice that even one of my peers stood up for me on the first day of school in 8th grade (middle school). From what I can remember it was a hot day Newport News. I was sweating in gym class. We were playing baseball outside and it was my turn up to bat. I hit the ball and starting running into 1st base. As I was running, I notice that another student (girl) started laughing at how I was running. I kept my feelings inside until we reach the girls locker room. I was so upset that I started to cry. Three other girls notice and asked what happen. When I told them, one of the girls walk straight up to that girl and starting demanding that she apologize. She said that it was no way to treat a new student on her first day. Needless to say, the other girl apology and I never had trouble from her or the other girls at school. I was very grateful. Let me tell you. No middle school has EVER been very welcoming to new students nor anti bulling. In fact, most of the bulling start in middle school. So, this is very rare to find a school like this.
Later on in I learn that it only got better. I learned that our high school was the only PUBLIC school that I can recall that prayed before an assembly. That is pretty amazing from a huge high school. I had 522 students just in my graduation class. That not counting all the other 9th, 11th, or 12th graders. My high school had it's own food court. Quite literally. We had to have 3 different periods (lunch times) so the school can accumulate all the students. Every day you would walk into the lunch room and pick what you would like to eat for lunch. The lunch room is set up just like a food court in a mall. You could chose to eat pizza and fries (actually there were two different section of pizza and fries..It was quite popular..I couldn't image why..), subs and chips, tacos, salad bar and of course the other choice of food that was offer daily on regular public school menus.
I started chorus again in 9th grade and make All Woman's Selection Ensemble by 10th grade. Our chorus was quite popular. We won State and Regional Championships. Came in 1st and 2nd. Our championships were held in Myrtle Beach, SC. This was my first time EVER staying 4 nights at a hotel out of state by myself (not with any family members). I did manage to sneak away with my Great Aunt and Uncle. Apparently they lived in the area and when they found out that I was coming up, they stopped by. They took me out to eat to this famous restaurant and conventionly forgot to tell me how HUGE the cheeseburgers were. I order one and it was ONE pound of beef on ONE patty. So, I order it and couldn't eat it all. I got picked one because I couldn't finish it, but was eyeing the chocolate cake on the shelf. Hey, A girl has to have her chocolate right?!?!

Let me introduce you to Laura
I meet my best friend Laura in 8th grade. Her last name was SN and our English teacher decided to put us in alphabetical order by last name. She quickly realized her mistake. You see, my friend Laura is a talker and couldn't stop us from talking. She end up moving us to opposite sides of the room. Ah, but that didn't stop us. We got a notebook. This was our top secret chatty notebook. We went through 3 notebooks. We even would spice it up with stickers. :D What made us such good friends you ask? She was in couple of my classes, rode my bus, and lived one block from my house. I learned later that she was a great loyal and trustworthy friend. She was always honest and was always there for me when I needed her.
